Alpacasso Cafe @ Aeon Mid Valley

Most girls are easily attracted to cutesy stuff. I am no different. Anything cute instantly catches my eyes for sure. Alpacasso Cafe is a hidden find inside Aeon Mid Valley. It is located at the kids' toy section near an escalator.

Tokyo Secret Cheese Tart Review

When you see a queue in front of a restaurant or a food stall, you know you have to try it. For the past few weeks, eager customers can be seen queuing up at Tokyo Secret in One Utama for their half baked cheese tarts. The store is located strategically near Mac Store, opposite Haagen Dazs. Their branch in Ikano or IPC however, has lesser customers and I did not even have to queue for my tart! So go for the Ikano branch one if you hate queuing!

This is a picture taken at Tokyo Secret One Utama where I first had my heavenly cheese tart.  For those planning to get their tarts from IPC, you can find their store outside of the Mac store.

Coming into Tokyo Secret IPC, I was quite surprised to see an empty store although I did spotted a girl carrying two Tokyo  Secret bags. The colour scheme of this outlet is the same with One Utama but this store feels much more comfortable.

Their cheese tarts are priced at RM7.90 per piece. Sorry but you don't get discount for buying more tarts. Pretty pricey eh? I also noticed that the IPC branch serves more than just tarts! There are affogatos and ice creams too. I guess I will try them out another day.

At Tokyo Secret, you can be assured that all tarts are fresh out of the oven. Here are the last four tarts left from the previous batch of tarts. Yes, you will have to wait for the next batch if they ran out of it. Do eat your tarts on the spot or it won't be as good later on.

The tarts are definitely bigger than your normal egg tarts. The pastry of the tart is crunchy but the cheese is so soft and melts in your mouth. I have no doubt that I will be coming back quite regularly for their tarts. It is AMAZING.

Seems like Tokyo Secret might face some competition soon as there is another cheese tart shop named Pablo that is under renovation in Old Wing One Utama. Also, there is Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart in Empire Subang which I am eager to try out. I can't get enough of them heavenly tarts!

Soft Launch Cafe @ Sri Petaling Review

The strawberry waffle craze have been on social media for quite awhile now and the cafe serving it is none other than Soft Launch Cafe located in Sri Petaling. I am a waffle lover so there is no excuse for me not to go there to try it out myself. Some cafe waffles that I enjoy includes Chequers and Frisky Goat in TTDI. Just like these two cafes, Soft Launch also serve savoury waffles.

Bacon & Brews @ Damansara Uptown Review

Damansara Uptown is filled with cafes, new and old ones. Bacon & Brews is a relatively new kid joining the cafe scene by occupying a unit on the first floor along the row with Tsujiri and Miru Dessert Cafe. Serving fusion food means that their menu is a pretty interesting one with dish names like Fat Rice to attract more customers.

I'm sure many health enthusiast have tried or at least heard of the cold pressed juice La Juiceria. Recently, they have expanded their business to more than serving just juice with the birth of Goodness Green cafe located just a few doors away from the popular Grumpy Cyclist in TTDI.

Afternoon Tea at TWG Pavilion

There is no doubt that TWG (The Wellness Group) is a very popular spot for having afternoon tea. Surprisingly, this company actually originated from Singapore, our very close neighbour. I've seen TWG at Marina Bay and it is BEAUTIFUL. I would say the TWG in Malaysia looks luxurious as well.

Go Noodle House @ One Utama Review

As long as a restaurant has good food, location does not matter much just like this branch of Go Noodle House in One Utama. Going into the alley leading to Go Noodle, I was surprised to see all tables filled up with a quite a number of people sitting on benches outside waiting for their tables. In my mind, I was about to walk away but my boyfriend decided to ask how long will the wait be. Luckily, it was only 10-15 minutes. So we sat on the bench outside and wait patiently.

The Big Cheese & Hayadon @ Da Men USJ

Da Men is quite a new mall which deserves more attention as it is not your typical mall filled with the same stores and food. On the LG floor, there is a big compound occupied by many food stalls such as the famous Little Fat Duck and Cafe Benne. But what really attracted me was The Big Cheese with their rather bright yellow colour stall and Hayadon since there was quite a crowd there that day.

WonderMama X @ Avenue K Review

WonderMama  has been around for quite some time but I have not really took much notice of this restaurant which I don't know why. They have two outlets, one in Bangsar Village and another in Avenue K. Recently, I noticed that they are going to expand their territory to Petaling Jaya with a new branch in One Utama. I am excited for WonderMama to open in One Utama, a shopping mall where I am a regular, coming in every week for my movie date. I wonder if the new WonderMama will have the same interior design as the one in Avenue K.

Epic Fit Meals Co. @ Damansara Perdana Review

I know how it feels to be tired after work and still want to eat something healthy. Ain't nobody has the time in the world to cook everyday. I have been keen to try out Epic Fit Meals but did not managed to due their rather limited delivery coverage. One fine evening, I thought to myself why not stop by to get takeouts. Epic Fit Meals is easy to locate as their shop lot faces the main road in Damansara Perdana. They offer healthy food that is available for dine in, takeouts and also delivery to certain locations.

Mr. Wolf @ Taman SEA Review

If you drive along LDP towards Bandar Utama at night, you will notice Mr. Wolf's signboard on your left after passing by Taman Megah. Mr Wolf is a restaurant cum bar serving my favourite cuisine, Asian fusion.

Enorme @ Centrestage PJ Review

Enorme is one of those restaurants that lives up to its name. So hungry wolves, do come here to get your appetite fixed with the big portion food served here. Enorme is an Italian restaurant that serves good pastas and pizzas but do not burn a big hole in your pocket. Don't worry if you are more of a cafe hopper because they have got you covered with their brunch menu as well!

Banting Beggar Chicken Review

I have not been posting on this page as me and my boyfriend was busy with lots of adult stuff. Sh*t gets real when you get your house keys and you are clueless where to start from for your renovation. Though there were tons of choices to choose from, it didn't helped since I am a fickle minded person who just have trouble making a choice. Anyway, my family and I managed to explore Banting a little and try out the famous beggar chicken as recommended by Axian.  The day was scorching hot and it did not make me any happier.

The restaurant can be easily missed if you are not observant as there were no proper signboards. If you are heading towards Bukit Jugra, the restaurant will be on your left. Do not forget to make reservations at least 2 days in advance as they do not entertain walk-ins.

Well I guess there is their painted signboard in Chinese wordings. Not very practical huh? Maybe it is because they know they are famous so they do not need to spend on a pretty signboard.

You  will notice there is a wooden shack near the dining area. This is the place where they cook the chicken.

Look closely and you will notice a number of chickens wrapped up inside here. It actually smells really good inside the restaurant which made me hungry.
So here we have the beggar chicken, their star dish. Sorry to disappoint you but I fail to see why they are so famous. No doubt the chicken is really tender but the taste is just so-so. I won't be coming back here for it especially when the price is considered on the high side.

The glutinous rice is also supposed to be their specialty but it was another disappointment for me. The rice was on the hard side and the taste was also just alright. But the size of this glutinous rice is huge!

This longevity soup was also recommended when we called them up. This soup is the only dish I sort of enjoyed here. You can taste the herbs really well and the chicken is tender. Only problem is  that it does not feel good drinking soup in the hot weather.

We also take away the beggar's pig leg for dinner that night. I would say the pig leg actually taste better than the beggar's chicken.

If you happened to visit Banting/Bukit Jugra, no harm trying out this place but I would strongly suggest not to coming all the way to Bukit Jugra just to try this restaurant out.

Tea Press @ Da Men USJ

Bored of English afternoon tea? Why not go for a Japanese afternoon tea instead at Tea Press? Tea Press opened doors at Uptown awhile ago but now you can also find them in Da Men, the new shopping mall in USJ.  Last Sunday, I decided to check out the new mall with my boyfriend since it seems to have Japanese style boutiques there. We stumbled upon Tea Press during the afternoon and thought it would be nice to just chill out. Anyway this is just a short post as we didn't order much that afternoon.

Afternoon Tea @ STG Tea House Cafe, Ipoh

Thinking of spending an afternoon like a English royal sipping on tea? STG is the place to go if you are in Ipoh. Ipoh has quite a number of eateries located in bungalows which are really beautiful. This is not the STG located in Ipoh town that I am referring to but the one in Taman Chateau. STG is the acroynm for Sabah Tea Garden if you are wondering.

Fifth Palate @ Kota Damansara Review

A few days ago, I decided to treat my very wonderful mother to a meal. After seeing good reviews on Facebook and several websites, I decided to bring her to Fifth Palate. I am always intrigued by creative dishes like their very famous Drunken Frenchman. Sweet and savoury together just sound so awesome. We arrived there around 2 something and parking was PLENTIFUL. Of course, it might be a little hard for some to locate this cafe located in Encorp Strand Garden Office. Do follow the signs put up by the cafe.

Ipoh Street Food : Sun Seng Fatt, Dai Shu Geok, Tuck Kee

Every year I would visit Ipoh without fail during Chinese New Year. This gives me an opportunity to explore the food around town which I truly enjoy. But going back during the festive seasons also means that many places will be closed. Anyway I still managed to try out a few famous hawker/street food. For the first  time ever unlike the previous years, we skipped going to the ever crowded dim sum places for breakfast and went for a good old bowl of curry noodles instead. For another morning, we head for yong tau fu and assam laksa and we stopped by for some hor fun for supper one night.

Jose & Deli @ French Hotel, Ipoh

I was back in my hometown Ipoh to visit my granny during this Chinese New Year. Since on the first day, most places run by the local Chinese are closed we decided to have our breakfast in French Hotel near the Store. Walking into Jose & Deli, it felt very hipster and bright just like most cafes back in KL.

Tips for Universal Studios Singapore

I know when I say that I am visiting Universal Studios Singapore on Christmas day, you will think that I am mad. Going to most theme parks on a public holiday means that there will be a crowd, a really big crowd to be exact. The easiest way to by pass the line for the rides is definitely to pay more for the express pass. If you are visiting on a non-peak day, then you have no worries at all. This post will be useless for you then.

Flavourest Cafe @ Zenith Kelana Jaya Review

I am a sucker for anything cute. Don't judge me. Usually, themed cafes like Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe in Sunway Pyramid charges a premium on their food and beverages but not Flavourest Cafe. This bear themed cafe is sure to attract kids, young and old. I am quite surprised that Flavourest Cafe isn't quite popular. You should drop by this cafe if you are going to Paradigm Mall since it is just a stones throw away from Flavourest located in Zenith Corporate Park.

Strato @ The Troika Review

The Troika has been quite a famous place for fine dining with Kampachi, Acem Bar & Coffee, Cantaloupe, Fuego, and also Strato all under the same roof. Strato is a Italian restaurant with a breathtaking view of Kuala Lumpur. Arriving at level 23A, you will be greeted and asked which restaurant are you dining at. The view is amazing at Claret Bar with the stunning stairways up leading to Strato.

Menya Musashi @ One Utama Review

If you know me well, this is my FAVOURITE ramen place in Klang Valley. Weekdays or weekends, Menya Musashi is most of the time full house. Menya Musashi is located in Isetan and just right next to another ramen outlet, Hokkaido Gantetsu which is less popular.

There's already a crowd outside at around 6.30pm so come early or you might have to wait for seats.

Kid Friendly Benbino @ Publika Review

Benbino is a fun restaurant in Publika which is also under the  management of BIG's Group. Being a kid friendly restaurant, there is a playground area outside of the indoor seating. This place is perfect for those weekend family outing with kids! If you have a small appetite, this is also a place for you where kid size meals are served here. Looks like BIG is taking over Publika huh?

Look at  the giraffe! By the way, that is not a slide on the right side but a spiral stairs which leads up to  Benbino. It really look like a big slide for kids to slide down from the first floor.
