The Big Cheese & Hayadon @ Da Men USJ

Da Men is quite a new mall which deserves more attention as it is not your typical mall filled with the same stores and food. On the LG floor, there is a big compound occupied by many food stalls such as the famous Little Fat Duck and Cafe Benne. But what really attracted me was The Big Cheese with their rather bright yellow colour stall and Hayadon since there was quite a crowd there that day.

I don't usually see places that specialize in cheese toast although it is a comfort food and easy to make. The Big Cheese stall is a stall that you will not miss because of its bold colour pairing of yellow and black.

Just like most stalls here, you order and pay at the counter then wait for your food to arrive. The staff at the counter was a friendly girl who is ready to recommend you their top sellers. The menu is available at the counter as well as a giant one on one of the pillars at their stall.

A simple menu that will not give you a hard time choosing. If you notice, you can add RM6 to get two additional sides or a side and a float. What a deal! A float alone will cosst you RM10 here. I highly recommend upgrading your toast to a meal.

Bacon & Cheese (RM15)

We got their top seller which is Bacon & Cheese. The bacon was slightly dry but it was a good toast overall. The skin of the toast is crunchy while the rest is toasted to perfection.

Ham & Cheese (RM13), Homemade Mac & Cheese (Ala Carte RM11)

The classic combination of Ham & Cheese will please anybody of any age unless you hate ham. I personally prefer this over the Bacon & Cheese.

On the side, we got the Homemade Mac & Cheese from the RM6 upgraded  meal. Kids will love this cheesy Mac & Cheese. If you have extra calorie quota, go for this and I bet that you will not regret it. I almost forgot to mention about my Root Beer Float which was included in the meal. It was great to have it along with these toasties.

If you feel like eating Japanese  food but prefer something wallet friendly, go try out Hayadon. For the time being, not many shops are open at 4th floor at the Akiba area which is supposed to be something you see in Pavilion's Tokyo Street. Just like the name Hayadonsuggest, they serve don and udon here.

The menu here is simple and price is reasonable.

Dry Spicy Chicken & Egg Udon (RM14.90 for set, RM12.90 for ala carte)

One of their best sellers here this spicy dry udon which gave me the feeling of a burnt stomach. Not for anybody with a weak stomach for sure. I am one who can tolerate rather spicy food. But this is the kind of spiciness which stings your stomach!  I actually loved the udon when mixed with the egg but unfortunately is was too spicy for me. I swapped this bowl of udon with my mother who was more than happy to finish it.

Spicy Mayo Chicken Don (RM14.90 for set, RM12.90 for ala carte)

The level of spiciness of this don is much more friendly and it is great that they serve salad in this bowl as well. This was definitely my favourite dish since the sauce pairs really well with everything from the chicken to the salad.

Teriyaki Chicken Don (RM12.90 for set, RM10.90 for ala carte)

This Teriyaki Chicken Don is quite decent in taste as well. Again, loving that it comes with a side of salad to make the meal more healthy and balance in nutrition.
