Mr. Tuk Tuk Thai Street Food @ Sunway Pyramid

Thai food is popular among us Malaysians hence there are many Thai restaurants here in our country. Mr. Tuk Tuk is a new place for Thai street food that had just opened in Sunway Pyramid.

It was a Saturday evening and as expected, we had to wait for a table. While waiting, the waitress hand us the menu with an order form to fill in. Great way to boost up the speed of serving. In less than 10 minutes, a group of four went off and we finally got to sit down.

The restaurant looked much bigger than it actually is thanks to the big mirror on one side of the wall. With the mirror reflecting the lights, the restaurant is extra bright.

Despite being fully occupied, it is still very comfortable to dine here. It is great that they did not cramp as much tables as they can or it will not be a good dining experience.

The menu here is nicely designed and they have quite a good variety here. From now till month end (June 2016), you can have their artisan ice cream at only RM1 with any order of rice or noodle. The Tom Yam and Green Curry flavour definitely had my attention.

Special Platter (RM23.80)

Served in a pretty plate, we have fish cakes, chicken wings, prawn crackers and papaya salad. I find this platter to be a little spicy for my liking but enjoyed the fish cakes quite a lot.

Thai BBQ Lamb (RM11.80)

A must order for me in any Thai restaurants, provided if they have it of course. This was a dish up to my expectations with the lamb cooked well and more importantly, served with a great sauce.

Tuk Tuk Laksa (RM9.80)

With the price of RM9.80, I expected more from Mr Tuk Tuk for their laksa. I was expecting at least a few pieces of chicken meat or something. However, I have to say that the laksa tasted quite good.

Set Menu (RM17.80)

The set menu was decently priced with rice, two dishes, a salad and also their Thai Iced Tea. Nothing fantastic but fills you up well.

Ice Cream (Left Thai Ice Tea, Right Green Curry)

Since the ice creams were worthy to try for only RM1, we went for the not-so-ordinary Green Curry taste for an adventure which came with a small scoop of glutinous rice. The Thai Ice Tea flavoured ice cream was just in case the Green Curry was bizarre. Turns out, we loved the Green Curry as much as the Thai Ice Tea.

At Mr Tuk Tuk, you can expect decently priced food with satisfactory taste. It is a great place for a group of friends to hang out with the lively ambiance here.
