Bacon & Brews @ Damansara Uptown Review

Damansara Uptown is filled with cafes, new and old ones. Bacon & Brews is a relatively new kid joining the cafe scene by occupying a unit on the first floor along the row with Tsujiri and Miru Dessert Cafe. Serving fusion food means that their menu is a pretty interesting one with dish names like Fat Rice to attract more customers.

Judging from posts I seen on Instagram, their platting skills are on point. I am more excited to taste some beautifully presented food. But first, the cafe itself is quite a relaxing one with warm white lighting making the ambiance a cozy one.

White chairs complemented the black tables and black wall well.

Bacon & Brews is a cafe that do not charge service charge, Yay for that! Upon entering the cafe, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who quickly brought the menu to our table. She also took the time to explain their specialty items as well as letting us know what cake was available that day. Good service indeed despite not charging extra service charge although you do have to order and pay at the counter. I did not mind that at all.

Chicken Confit (RM26.90)

One of the recommended items was this Chicken Confit served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The chicken was tender and moist while the mashed was pretty good. Good dish but nothing really spectacular here.

Teriyaki Ribs (RM28.90)

The Teriyaki Ribs is also another item that was mentioned by the waitress and it not only looked good but tasted good as well. I love how they used pineapple to give the dish a sweet note aside from using the Teriyaki sauce. This is also served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Best of all, the price is really reasonable at below RM30 for ribs. Portion wise, it might not be sufficient for big eaters.

Banana Pancake (RM15.90)

Again, a dish with pretty presentation. The boyfriend really enjoyed this while it was too sweet for my liking. No doubt the pancakes were soft and fluffy but everything together was just sweet.

Now that I looked back at everything I had, there was no bacon. I actually came here expecting to eat some bacon but looks like I was wrong. Bacon or no bacon, I did enjoyed this meal although some improvement is needed to stay in the cafe scene. The waiting time for our food was a little too long as I guess there weren't enough staff. Also, none of the dishes were outstanding enough to make us want to come back here again.
