Soft Launch Cafe @ Sri Petaling Review

The strawberry waffle craze have been on social media for quite awhile now and the cafe serving it is none other than Soft Launch Cafe located in Sri Petaling. I am a waffle lover so there is no excuse for me not to go there to try it out myself. Some cafe waffles that I enjoy includes Chequers and Frisky Goat in TTDI. Just like these two cafes, Soft Launch also serve savoury waffles.

Soft Launch cafe is located above a hair saloon beside the famous 103 Coffee Workshop. Parking is relatively easy if you don't mind paying to park in the covered car park just opposite the cafe. The cafe is really brightly decorated and crowd can be seen pouring in non stop. It is no doubt a very popular brunch choice here.

Having a white colour wall instantly makes the whole cafe very bright and lively. The big windows allows light to shine in, making photo taking a breeze. 

At Soft Launch, you supposed to order and pay at the counter. 

The menu here is a  simple one page menu though choices might be limited to some. Their offerings include savoury waffles, desserts like softserve, pastas as well as two all day breakfast items: breakfast waffles and avocado with poached eggs.

Breakfast Waffle (RM26)

Although I really wanted to love their breakfast waffle, it was mediocre with the waffles being  a tad bit too dry. Sorry but this was a miss for me as the rest of the components such as the eggs, ham, sausage and mushrooms were nothing spectacular.

Chicken Waffle (RM22)

The chicken waffle that came with scrambled eggs and honey on the side was another ordinary dish. I cannot help but to feel that the whole dish did not blend well together. 

Strawberry Waffle (RM19)

The star dish of this cafe again, failed to impress me. Maybe it is because I don't enjoy whipped cream. If you love whipped cream, I guess you will enjoy this dish as it is filled with it! Do remember to drizzle honey all over the waffles. 

Softserve  with Topping (RM10)

Their chocolate and pistachio softserve is definitely something you have to order. This is no doubt the best of the bunch of items we ordered. Under the softserve are cornflakes which gave the softserve some added texture.

Overall, most of the dishes served by Soft Launch cafe is just so-so but they are for sure Instagram worthy!
