Softsrve @ Damansara Uptown Review

Ice cream parlors are pretty much dominating the dessert scene in Klang Valley. Softsrve joined the hype a few months ago with its store opening in Damansara Uptown. Looking at its name Softsrve, you would already know what is it serving: soft serve ice creams. It is softer than regular ice creams for those who don't know. Or put it in simple words, it is a fancier version of McDonald's RM1 ice cream which also served with dry ice for the extra  OMMMPH effect.

Can you spot the dry ice effect? No? Look closely.

On weekend nights, there is no surprise to see a big crowd here in Softsrve. People of all walks of life are spotted here be it young or old, male or female. Everybody love getting some ice cream.

Indoor and outdoor seating area filled with happy Softsrve  customers.

View from the inside.

Since Christmas is around the corner, the place is decorated with a white Christmas theme with a Christmas beside the counter. I love that there are huge windows rather than just walls. It gives the whole place a really cheerful feeling.

Order and pay here.

The menu is available on the board and at the counter. Do get to the counter to order and pay. You will be served at your table within minutes after that.

Softsrve menu. Zoom in to have a better look.

There are 3 flavours of soft serve here: Cereal Milk, Deep Chocolate, and Oolong Tea. Basic ice cream in a cup here is sold at RM9. You can choose different topping here such as Theatre (gourmet popcorn) at RM11, Churros at RM12, Dynamite (cotton candy with popping candy) at RM11. These three are available with any of the three flavours. There are also special topping options available for each of the soft serve flavours.

For Cereal Milk, the favourites are Breakfast (caramelised cereal and strawberries) RM12 Fluffy (cotton candy with sprinkles of Himalayan salt) RM10

As for Deep Chocolate, Churros and Truffles (chocolate truffle and drizzle of chocolate sauce) are the recommended ones with both priced at RM12.

Honey (honey drizzle with sesame crisps) RM11 and Sunflower (caramelised sunflower seeds and pineapple flower) RM12 are favourites for the Oolong Tea soft serve.

You can also have your soft serve in a cone. Churros with Dipping Sauce at RM10 can also be found on the menu. You get to choose between cinnamon caramel sauce and dark chocolate sauce.

Tapping Tapirs are available here as well.

Deep Chocolate with Churros (RM12)

A better look of the 'fog' created by the dry ice in the bigger cup under the smaller cup containing the soft serve.

From left, Truffles with Deep Chocolate, Breakfast with Cereal Milk, Churros with Deep Chocolate. All RM12 each

Don't they all look so pretty? This is why you will notice some of us taking pictures or even  videos for our Instagram. The soft serves are definitely a class above those from Ikea and McDonalds as the flavours are more bold especially the chocolate flavour. The Truffle is too sweet for me but the Churros are really to die for! Churros and chocolate are really a match made in heaven. The Cereal Milk pairs really well along with the cereal. I love how the cereals gives the soft texture of ice cream some good crunch. This would have to be my personal favourite of all three that I have tried.

Although the soft serve is only in the small cup, the portion is just right for one. Their prices are pretty much the same with other ice cream places. The price is justifiable for its portion served here.

Will I revisit? Definitely yes especially when they release seasonal flavours. I remember them serving special flavours during Halloween last month.
