Real Food @ 1 Mon't Kiara Review

Real Food is a vegetarian cafe which also sells vegetarian groceries. This Singapore cafe also expanded their business in Penang with an outlet in Straits Quay before stepping foot here in Kuala Lumpur as well. This cafe is not only meat-free but their food are also free from processed ingredients, artificial preservatives and also trans-fat.

Front portion of the cafe selling groceries.

A variety of teas found here.

 Chocolates.

Look! Ice creams!

Spacious cafe.

Take a seat and they will hand you the menu. I love that most of the furniture here are wood material which gives this cafe a really natural touch.

From Western to Asian, Real Food have them all.

 Sandwiches & Burgers

Love places that serve all day breakfast.

 Healthy soup

Salad for those who are extra  health conscious

 Sides for sharing

 Good old Asian food.

Western varieties

Cold-press juice, the recent hype in KL also served here.

Red rose soy milk sounds pretty interesting eh?

They even serve honey here!

Alone? No problem. There's tea in a cup as well.

More tea!

Counter area

After choosing from the menu, head to the counter at the front portion to order and pay. Don't worry. They will serve you your food at your table. This cafe has a very relaxing vibe here. I do enjoy just sitting at the table doing nothing.

Sonnentor Flowers Herbal Tea RM11

Our Sonnentor Flowers Herbal Tea in a pot came first and it smells really good. On the first sip however, the apple mint was just a tad bit too overwhelming for me liking. Other than that, the tea was actually really good. This tea is perfect during anytime of the day as it is caffeine free.

Steamed Dumplings 8 pieces (RM17)

We had steamed dumplings but you can also opt for fried ones. The skin of the dumplings area little on the thicker side but the fillings are pretty delicious. The sauce which has sesame oil in it was really fragrance. The dumplings are really up to par to be their signature dish so be sure that you order this when you are here.

Miso Mulukkhiya Noodles (RM22)

Next up was the miso noodles that were recommended by the girl at the counter. This noodle came with a poached egg and it was perfectly cooked with the yolk pouring out when cut into half. The corn and radish makes this Miso soup much more flavourful. I felt that they should have used thinner noodles like vermicelli rather than the flat noodles. Towards the end of the bowl, the soup may be a little too salty.

 Fried Bario Rice (RM17)

Colourfully plated, this fried Bario rice is definitely something to look out for. The beans in the fried rice also adds more texture and flavour to the plate. I also love that they included cherry tomatoes on the top.

Organic Mushroom Aglio Olio (RM22)

Aglio Olio is a simple dish but one can mess it up when there's too much oil. This was the case with Real Food's Aglio Olio. Although I love that they used a generous amount of assorted mushrooms in their aglio olio, the oiliness really bothered me.

Overall, all the food came in pretty big portion. For small eaters, share one main and order their sides rather than having two mains.

Will I revisit? The Baked Brown Rice is something that I wanted to try which was not available that day. Maybe I will be back for that baked rice.
