Jersey Jack Gelato Review

I love ice cream. Again, who doesn't? But I am always eager to try unusual ice cream flavours. The nasi lemak gelato by Cielo Dolci is quite well known among foodies but have you ever heard of salmon and wasabi gelato? Yes you did not read wrongly. Salmon, the common fish in western and Japanese cuisine and wasabi, the green thingy you eat with your sushi. This peculiar flavored gelato is available at Jersey Jack Gelato, a hidden ice cream parlour located in Bukit Bintang among rows of  really old houses.

Although this gelato place is small, it feels really spacious inside here as there are only a handful of tables here. I hate it when cafes or restaurants  try to cramp too many tables in their premises.

Looks pretty comfortable right? The only sofa here though. More for coffee drinkers I guess.

Prices here are reasonable.

On to the verdict, I LOVED the salmon & wasabi. Don't be too quick to judge me being weird. It ain't anything bizarre at all. I remembered recently I tried GSC's wasabi popcorn and it was impossible for two to finish it because of the overpowering wasabi taste and smell. Jersey Jack's gelato is a totally different story. The taste of wasabi was strong enough for you to taste it but it will not choke you even the slightest bit. The main star in this gelato in my opinion is the salmon taste which you can clearly taste it. It tasted more like a smoked salmon taste that you have on your salad.

For those days where you need something refreshing, try the passion fruit sorbet. It is sour and full of flavour. Perfect for a sunny day. The Madagascan Vanilla tasted sweet and pretty typical. Whether you are a sweet tooth or not, there will be something for you.

Will I come back again? Yes. For that salmon & wasabi gelato!!!
