Sg. Besi Wan Tan Mee Review

On some days, I just crave for some good wanton noodle (a.k.a wan tan mee a.k.a. wantan mee). Which spelling is the right one? That is a hard question. A plate  of good wan tan mee need to be springy and chewy and not to forget the tasty dumplings.

This stall has been around for many years in Sg. Besi. Although it is no longer the hot new thing in town, their business is still really good. Wan Tan Mee Sg. Besi is quite easy to locate as it is just along Jalan Sg. Besi. Parking space is also available beside the stall but do keep in mind that parking spaces are limited.

The menu is pretty much on the signboard. Wild boar curry wan tan mee is something not commonly found so I thought it would be a good idea  to try that. And who goes to a wan tan mee place without trying char siew wan tan mee? We also got the sui kow (dumplings) just to try.

Delicious looking char siews being displayed on the stall. This place can get busy after 6.30 pm. Do try to come early or else you will have to wait for parking and table.

Before I forget, they also sell yong tau foo for those who wants  to have some veggie incorporated in their meal as well.

Look at the generous amount of sinful  wild boar curry on the plate. The wild boar curry is just right, not too spicy. The noodles on its own is pretty good but I prefer mixing the curry with the noodles which makes it taste like dry curry noodles.

Here we have the  char siew wan tan mee which is also really good choice for those who don't like curry. The char siew is really tasty!

The dumplings on the other hand, is quite a let down. It is decent but nothing memorable.

Service is alright and not too slow.

Will I revisit? Yeah, once in a while.
